Breakfast Smoothie for Kids

I got a bad report from the school today when my son, in 5k, decided make noises during class and not listen to his teachers.  This of course made me embarrassed and I felt a little out of control.  I decided to try other methods of controlling his energy.  I noticed that in the mornings when we have waffles with syrup or a sweet cereal he is more likely to get in trouble at school  so I have decided to change our breakfast diet.   On this note, I will start posting nutritious but good breakfast foods and recipes for in the morning.  These recipes will help us all and not just our children.  With good food and lots of prayer we will change bad habits to good ones not just for our children but also for ourselves.

Here is a smoothie recipe to add to our new change.

Apple Banana Smoothie

  • 1 frozen bananas, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 red apple, peeled, core and chopped
  • 1/4 cup milk or soy milk
  • Blend with ice and serve.

    Strawberry Smoothie

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • Blend with ice and serve.

These recipes were found at allrecipes.com .  If you have a smoothie recipe you would like to share I would love to hear it.
