Shrimp with Cream Cheese Sauce


  • 3/4 block of plain cream cheese
  • small glass jar of whole mushrooms
  • 1/2 bag of large frozen cooked shrimp
  • your choice of string pasta
  • 1 tsp. of minced garlic
  • 2 tsp. of butter
  • 1 package of frozen broccoli ( this is a side dish )


Cook pasta following directions on the package.  (This can be done at anytime.  Pasta can be cooked the day before if needed and put in the fridge to use the next day with this recipe.)

Cook frozen shrimp following directions on the package.  While waiting on the shrimp to cook, in a dutch oven mix butter, garlic and mushrooms and saute until tender and butter is melted.

Since I never actually have time to wait on te cream cheese to soften I blended it into the mushroom mix and let the heat soften it.

Cook the frozen broccoli according to the directions.

Your shrimp should be done or almost done at this time.  Pour 3/4 cup of hot water into the mushroom/cream cheese mixture  and boil until mixture is blended and smooth.  If it looks a little soupy wait  a few minutes and let it soften.

  After sauce is at a consistency of your liking pour over the shrimp and pasta.  Serve immediately.

Husband:  “Really good dinner, I thought it was from somewhere else and not homemade.”


Austin: ” Mom I don’t like shrimp.”  My comment back was,” Ok give me your shrimp and you eat the pasta and broccoli.”  After that he said it was really good.

Cole:  When asked he shook his that it was good and cleaned his plate.
